Villa in Panzano in Chianti
We designed the renovation of a beautiful farmhouse complex, which over the years had lost the flavor of its stratifications, with the use of anonymous materials and due to some changes that had made it trivial.
RESTORATION OF A FARMHOUSE COMPLEX IN CHIANTI
With the new owners, a process of analysis of the structure and attention to their needs began. The property has rediscovered personality and flavor: the beautiful internal courtyard appears today as a rediscovered place, dominated by the medieval tower, the first building of the ancient nucleus.
The restoration was based on careful historical research, which revealed the original configuration of each room and its openings. The new swimming pool, built in place of the previous one, a rather foreign intervention in the 1980s, has now become a great viewpoint over the untouched valley.
A SWIMMING POOL PART OF THE LANDSCAPE
The design of the new swimming pool is inspired by the agricultural character of the landscape in which it is immersed. It is bordered by elements that refer to the dry stone walls of the agricultural partitions and recalls the collection tanks for irrigation water.
The Alberese stone of the pool, the Pietraforte of the staircase leading to the water and the local sandstone of the solarium, are the materials chosen to resonate the environmental context.
