London Engineering Firm

A Victorian brick church, which later became a power station, then a neighborhood center, and finally the shoe factory, became the headquarters of a large engineering firm with offices also in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. The project started from the connection between the two floors, initially visible only from the outside.

INTERNAL RENOVATION

The work began with the restoration of the building and the opening of many windows instead of niches that simulated them. The curved staircase that connects the two levels crosses two walls that become the support for a horseshoe-shaped balcony.

The balcony revolves around a double empty volume, which in turn is the projection of the central skylight that will completely determine the illumination of the ground floor.
